Summary: Your participation is anonymous. We collect aggregated data for research and benchmarking purposes only. No personally identifiable information is collected, and individual responses are never shared.
Who We Are
This learning maturity assessment is conducted by your organization in partnership with MerlinEnable, a learning technology company specializing in organizational learning diagnostics and AI-powered learning solutions.
What Data We Collect
Anonymous Survey Responses
We collect your responses to the Merlin Grade assessment questionnaire, which includes:
- Your assessment of learning practices across 10 dimensions (30 core questions)
- Market intelligence questions about organizational practices and preferences
- Your role type (L&D Manager, Business Manager, Employee, or Coach) for response grouping
What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) unless you voluntarily provide it. Specifically, we do NOT collect:
- Your name
- Employee ID or personnel number
- Email address (unless you voluntarily provide it for follow-up)
- Department or specific team identification
- Any other data that could identify you individually
How We Use Your Data
Primary Purpose: Organizational Assessment
Your responses are combined with others from your organization to produce:
- Maturity scoring across 10 dimensions of learning effectiveness
- Stakeholder triangulation identifying where perspectives align or diverge across roles
- Economic impact calculations (Search Tax, Coaching Gap) based on aggregated friction data
- Strategic recommendations tailored to your organization's specific context
Secondary Purpose: Market Research & Benchmarking
De-identified, aggregated data from multiple organizations is used by MerlinEnable for:
- Industry benchmarking (comparing maturity across sectors, organization sizes, regions)
- Product improvement (understanding common pain points and needs)
- Research publications (academic papers, whitepapers, industry reports)
Important: Only aggregated, anonymized data is used for these purposes. No individual organization or person can be identified.
Data Retention & Security
How Long We Keep Your Data
- Assessment data: Retained for the duration of the assessment project and up to 12 months afterward to support follow-up analysis
- Aggregated benchmarking data: Retained indefinitely in anonymized form for research purposes
- Raw survey responses: Deleted after final reports are delivered (typically within 3-6 months)
How We Protect Your Data
- Survey data is collected via secure Microsoft Forms infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest
- Access to raw data is restricted to authorized assessment team members only
- All data processing complies with GDPR and applicable data protection regulations
- No data is sold to third parties
Who Sees Your Responses
Within Your Organization
Individual responses are NEVER shared. Only aggregated results are presented, typically showing:
- Overall scores by dimension
- Patterns by stakeholder group (e.g., "Managers rated this dimension higher than employees")
- Statistical trends and perception gaps
No manager, HR representative, or executive will see your individual answers.
MerlinEnable Access
Only authorized MerlinEnable assessment team members have access to raw data for the purpose of:
- Data cleaning and validation
- Statistical analysis and scoring
- Report generation
These team members are bound by confidentiality agreements and data protection policies.
Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
Right to Access
You may request confirmation of whether we hold data about you and, if so, what data we hold (though responses are anonymized, limiting identification).
Right to Withdraw
You may stop the survey at any time without consequence. Partial responses are not saved unless you complete and submit the survey.
Right to Erasure
Because responses are anonymized, we cannot retroactively identify and delete individual responses after submission. However, you can request that any follow-up contact information you provided be deleted.
Right to Object
You may object to the use of aggregated, anonymized data for benchmarking and research purposes. Contact us to exercise this right.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
International Data Transfers
Survey data is collected and stored within the European Union (Microsoft Azure EU data centers). MerlinEnable team members may access data from outside the EU for analysis purposes, but all transfers comply with GDPR safeguards.
Changes to This Privacy Statement
We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued participation in the survey after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
